[1] These characteristics were bred in Andalucia throughout the Medieval Age. The ancestors of the PRE, the horses of the Conquistadors were brought to American with the Spanish as early as 1492. They were seasoned and hardy fighting machines, but not completely the Pure Spanish Horse we know today.
